The Hog Snapper, although actually a member of the Wrasse family, has a hog-shaped head and occurs in and around tropical reefs in the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. It is not commonly caught by rod and reel, although it is rumored that hog snapper will gladly take fresh lobster legs. A colorful fish, hog snappers are prized for the food quality and have a reputation for being somewhat easy to shoot with a Hawaiin sling. Hog Snappers are most popular among sport divers.
