Biography Matt Landau earned his B.S. from St. John's University in 1972, and his Ph.D. in Oceanography in 1983 from the Florida Institute of Technology. He has worked as a marine biologist in New York, Florida, Hawaii, Connecticut, and is currently the chairman of the Marine Science Department at the Richard State College of New Jersey. He has published over 60 scientific papers as well as two other marine biology books. A certified diver for about 25 years, his greatest pleasure is taking first time visitors to coral reefs and other tropical environments. Matt is married to another marine biologist, Brenda, and they live with their two children, Rose and Isaac.
