Aussie Barracuda Reel

Aussie Reels has been making high quality speargun reels for over 17 years in Perth, Western Australia. The idea sprouted when founders, Barry & Hans thought, 'ther must be a way not to have to drill our speargun barrels!

Today, Aussie Reels continues the tradition of supplying top level reels that easily mount onto a huge range of spearguns. These reels feature all stainless internals and glass-filled acetal construction and are proven to hold up to big game.

The "Barracuda"
This is where it all started where Barry and Hans thought there has to be a way to design a reel where you do not need to drill into the barrel of your rail gun. With over 70 years diving experience between them they designed the original reel and called it the "Barracuda Reel."

They originally made these for themselves and then people started asking where they could get one! Production started rolling. Over the last 8 years the "Barracuda Reel" has had various improvements and is now in its 4th generation with the biggest innovation since the clamp design: making it possible to attach the reel without removing the speargun handle. This makes it significantly easier to take it on and off without hassle.

Made from high quality nylon this reel holds 50m to 60m of 2mm Spectra cord. It is machined from a single block of nylon, and fitted with a stainless steel center pin for durability. The line guide is also stainless steel so your Spectra or Dyneema line does not fray. It is fitted by using a clamp style bracket direct to any 28mm barrel.

Barracuda Base

The Barracuda features clamp style base that works on a wide variety of guns. Since most speargun manufacturers use similar barrels, we have designed this reel to fit virtually all spearguns with round shape barrels when used with a specified gasket adapter. Adapter sizes include 28.1, 28.5, 29.1, 29.4, 30.0, 31.0 and 31.85. As long as the barrel is round and within .2mm up or down of the gasket adapter, it will fit nicely.

The Barracuda Reel comes in Black, White, Blue or Red.
